Footy Finals
After 22 weeks of gruelling matches, Aussie Rules footy is almost at its season end. The preliminaries is over and last week saw the first qualifying & elimination finals matches.

Four Victorian teams made it to the top eight along with four interstate teams. But since the Vic teams had to face each other last week, that means only two teams are left for the semifinals this week. The surviving teams, Melbourne Demons and Western Bulldogs will be up against WA's Fremantle Dockers and West Coast Eagles, respectively. I just hope at least one of them prevails.

If not, there will be no Victorian team on the finals, again. For five years now since Essendon won the premiership in 2000, the champions were from other states. Though by the looks of it, another interstate team could win it again this year.

Anyhow, I'm not losing hope. Melbourne Demons looks stronger this year. So here's hoping.

Go Demons! Go Doggies! Bring home the bacon!

Where's My Chicken?
I did my first shopping at Safeway Dingley last night. Since I don't like taking plastic bags, I carried my own shopping bag. The check-out cashier managed to fit everything in the bag except for the cooked chicken I bought for dinner. He asked me if he can put it in a plastic bag. I consented and paid for my bill. I took off when I got my docket.

Our house is just a short walk to the shopping center so I just walked there and wheeled my shopping bag back. When I got home, I quickly unloaded the bag to prepare for dinner, turned the oven on to reheat the chicken and bread. But where's the chicken? I checked the fridge and the bag, no chicken. Where the hell did I put my chicken? Oh no, I must have left it in the supermarket. It was on a separate plastic bag. Damn.

Trudging back to the supermarket, I approach the check-out guy (lucky we was still on duty) and without a word he handed me the plastic bag. Now there's my chicken.

Remembering Steve Irwin
As I was watching Channnel 9's tribute to Steve Irwin last night, I can't help but feel sad for his loss. He was Australia's greatest ambassador.

His show, The Crocodile Hunter reached billions of people around the world. America embraced him.

He was very passionate with what he does. The energy he exudes on screen is contagiuos. I have seen him a few times on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno though as per his producer he has appeared in the show 17 times. All the time donning his usual khaki shirts and shorts :).

Later in the night, the Animal Planet showed a documentary called "Steve's Story", as a tribute to the memory and legacy of Steve Irwin. There will be special airings of The Crocodile Hunter throughout the week to help us remember Steve Irwin's passion and mission.

So long, Crikey! We will remember you and your work for the environment. You beauty!

The Move

We took possession of the house in Dingley on 28th August and started moving stuff thereafter. Shane went backwards and forwards moving boxes for a good few days. A work associate loaned us a 4-ton truck on Saturday. We were hoping to have just a one-off load of furniture and appliances but we underestimated the amount of stuff we have. It didn’t look so much but we had to do one more load to complete the move. So much work to do.

And then come the house cleaning. Boy, it took me two and a half days to finish the inside of the house and Shane had to spend a day cleaning the outside. I am sore all over. Haay. After that, there is still the new house to organize. Walang katapusang pagod. It’s so @*#$^@# hard moving.

I can’t wait to get this over with so I can relax in my backyard watching footy in the park on weekends.
